I Love Award Season

Anyone that knows me knows that I'm an Award Season Junkie. The red carpet sucks me in every single time. Every. Single. Time.

You can imagine my excitement then when Laurie from TipJunkie emailed me to let me know that my Thing One and Thing Two shower had been nominated for a Tip Junkie Award! It's fate, I tell you. Be sure to check out all of the fun awards happening over on Tip Junkie and vote for your favorites.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go meet with Rachel Zoe to pick out my Awards ensemble.

Life is Sweet (Giveaways are pretty sweet, too!)

(Pssssst...stay until the end of the post for the Giveaway!)

With so much sour news everywhere you turn these days, it's time for something sweet. I'm a sucker for cute packaging and these two certainly fit that bill. Whether you need something for a new baby in your life or want to baby your guests (or yourself!) you have to check these out.

Her Milkshakes Bring All the Babies to the Yard

Claudia's Bowtique has these adorable baby items packaged like cupcakes and milkshakes (and much more!) available in her online store. Oh how I love an entrepreneurial Work At Home Mom. Good luck, Claudia!

You Know You Are a Grown Up When...

You legitimately get excited over socks and start to ask for them for Christmas. When they are as cozy as these KN Feet Treats chenille socks, then you start wishing Christmas was all year long!

These cute little bundles of joy would be such great additions to your next spa party, girls get-together, bridal shower, Wednesday, etc. I'll let the words of the people of Karen Neuburger take it from here for a minute:

Invitations:

First, punch a hole into the corner of your invitation. Then string pretty pastel ribbon into the hole and knot. Wrap the excess ribbon around the top of KN KAREN NEUBURGER Feet Treats packaging and tie into a friendly bow. Grab your guest address list, hop into the car and play crafty cupcake carrier. How could anyone turn down an invite complete with such a sweet surprise?

Place Setting:

Set your dinner table with a plate for each of your guests. Then arrange four various pastel-colored napkins in a spiral motion on each of the plates. Top each of the plates with KN KAREN NEUBURGER Feet Treats. Then sit back and watch your guests enjoy a calorie, carb and fat free first course!

Door Prize, Game Award, Parting Gift:

KN KAREN NEUBURGER Feet Treats make great gifts for your guests! Give as a fun twist on a classic door prize, award to a charades champion or send each of your guests away smiling and satisfied with a comfy, cozy pair of KN KAREN NEUBURGER’s biggest seller.

Now, about that GIVEAWAY. Leave a comment here on this post and you'll have the chance to win a pair of these chenille socks from KN. Baby, it's cold outside, so come on and enter. Your feet will thank you for making your fingers type a comment!

Wedding Feature

Hopefully I can get more pictures soon from the photographer (since someone - me - didn't have time to take a single picture) but until then, here is a great snapshot of the
wedding, as featured in Alive Magazine, that I had the pleasure of working on in November.

[Click on the above image to read the details!]

Thanks again to Ginger at Serendipity for helping tie all the elements together with your awesome paper skills and congrats again Andrea and Brad. Love you guys!

No Time to Decorate?

Gasp! Don't say such a thing. La la la...I can't hear you...

If you're hosting a holiday get-together and are out of time to shop for those last little touches to spruce up your table or your home, relax. Take a deep swig of egg nog. I mean take a deep breath. Look around your house and I bet you can recreate some of the images seen here. Who doesn't have various bowls, containers, extra ornaments and some ribbon lying around?

Don't thank me, thank Better Homes and Gardens. Unless you are the type that says "thanks" with chocolate or cash.

I'm off for the Christmas holiday but will be back soon. Happy Hanukkah. Merry Christmas. Safe travels. Happy moments.

Seriously, chocolate or cash.

Cheers,
amy

Game. Set. Match.

How completely appropriate that "love" is a term used in tennis, because that is exactly how I feel about this tennis-themed bat mitzvah created by Jamee of Setting the Mood. I love every little detail about this. I have no doubt you'll agree!

Visit Setting the Mood for more scoop on the details. Just looking at her logo lets you know you're in store for something amazing!

X Marks the PartySpot

If you're like me, then what you lack in height, you make up for in big hair - AND you can't get enough of websites with party and event inspirations.

If you don't have partyspot on your list, then go ahead and bookmark it now. There are some fantastic Real Parties featured on this site, and I'm pleased to have been asked to be one of them.

And, since the site is from the same people that brought the world The Knot, you know it's full of wonderful tips for planning your next event.

NKOTB!

There's a new kid on the block! Baby Lifestyles is her name. (Are websites female?) Baby Lifestyles is a great resource for all things baby. From nurseries, to shopping, to baby showers, this new site is sure to be a hit and promises to keep growing.

"Baby Lifestyles: For anyone with a baby, anyone having a baby, anyone who knows someone with a baby, anyone who knows someone who acts like a baby. " Okay, even though the site really does have something for everyone, I think we can all see why Lauren didn't ask me to come up with her marketing campaign.

Editor and Founder, Lauren Halperin has a great thing growing and features a baby shower article this month with yours truly and another featuring the added bonus of Jenn at HWTM and Joanna at LotusHaus. Check them out and make sure to keep an eye on Baby Lifestyles! They grow up so fast...sniff.

Cute As A Button

I know what you're thinking...

"A baby shower in pastels? It's about time."

Well, you do enough of them and surely one of them has to call for your traditional colors, right? And, when the sex of the baby isn't going to be known until the actual birth, then you get to use them all!

Kudos to guest, Katie, for wrapping her present to match the theme, and co-hostess, Julie, for baking a cake to match. Those are my kinda girls.

Okay, let's do this!

Just in case you aren't already on sugar overload, here are the rest of the pictures from The Sweetest Thing Shower for the triplets that I did last weekend.

First things first though. Since the shower was postponed due to mom being admitted to the hospital for 2 1/2 months before the birth, Triple Threat was in the house for the shower. Mom and babies are doing swell! Here's a peek at the guests of honor. Say it with me, "awwwwwwwwwwwwww."

Now, here are the rest of the pics of the party thrown for their mommy! I mean come on, SHE did all the work after all. Say it with me, "Owwwwwwwwww."

In case you've forgotten, here is the original invitation that was sent out before we postponed the shower.

Next up - Cute As A Button baby shower from this weekend. See you soon!

I'm Not Insured for Causing Cavities

Time is precious this week, so I'll give you a little bit of another taste in hopes you come back for more. Suddenly I sound like a drug dealer and not an event planner.

I have the best job ever

I don't mean to brag, but I think I might have the best job ever. I get to help people celebrate some of the happiest occasions in their lives and I get to meet really cool people along the way. Don't hate me.

I almost titled this one: The Post With All The Links, because not only did I get to create a baby shower for a great client and fun couple, but said dream clients also happen to have some pretty fantastic sites of their own.

Big thanks to Kristen Munson - the client voted (I would) Most Likey To Hang Out With. Did I mention she just happens to be a goldmine of Social Media info? You need to read this: http://www.socialmediamom.com/

Congratulations to Jim and Franki Durbin - I didn't get a picture of them so you'll just have to trust me when I tell you how adorable they are. Social Media. Web Design. Branding. The Durbins do it all. See for yourself, but don't blame me if you spend all day on their sites (or all of your paycheck on Franki's Fab Finds.)

Just in case you don't trust me.... In a few days, Julie will have photos up on her website and you can see for yourself what a great bunch this was! Meeting Julie was another great bonus that came out of planning this baby shower.

Oh Baby!

Who says baby showers have to be pastels and lace?

Answer: No modern girls I know.

Treat your mom-to-be with a baby shower as hip as she is!

The inspiration for this mod mom shower - polka dots! I dare you to look at this polka dot paper and not say the word "cute"...go on....just try.

But lanterns are meant to be hung. Oh really? Think again.

Fortune cookie pacifier favor boxes all in a row. You didn't think I'd go completely non-baby, did you? Little touches like these are great reminders of the real guest of honor. Shhhhhhhh, don't tell mom.

Personalized baby games to suit the crowd!

Personal guilty pleasure secret: the celebrity baby game was created without having to look up any of the names. Now it's your turn to share.
