Those carnations really get around.

Here is another simple vase treatment using pre-cut foam craft hearts and $1 ribbon. Just cut vertical parallel slits into the heart, lace your ribbon through it, slip onto the vase and top with flowers. Easy peasy.
.
You can slide the heart into any position you want on your vase. Not using flowers? You could also fill the vase with candies or other little goodies for your dessert station. Not doing a dessert station? Just group a few in different heights together, fill with water (color it if you're feeling frisky) and floating candles and use for your centerpiece.
.
Since I love cutting into foam with an exacto knife (it's like a ballpoint pen on a styrofoam cup...it's so smooth and easy), am all about simple, and the hearts come in a huge multi-pack, you can cut two slits into a foam heart and use as a festive napkin treatment. Slide to the middle, to the top, tuck flatware in, embellish or not...you choose!
.
You should also know that as I type this I have "Two of Hearts" by Stacey Q stuck in my head. Yes, I'm showing my age and yes, if you know that song, it's stuck in your head, too, now. You're welcome.

HOLLAAAAA for some Stacy Q!!!! What was that...like 1986? Of course I was just a wee lass then (ehem, cough, cough).
"two hearts that beat as one. I need you. I need you." Love it! Takin' old school today. And by old school, I mean a perfect time when my hair wasn't blown out, but in natural curls and I loved it! (I am still dreaming of banana clips!)
Cute ideas and perfect for a dinner I am throwing on Saturday. Easy and cheap. (Describing the craft, not me.)
